Car parks in Basel

Sixteen public car parks serve Basel, together around 7,500 spaces. The parking guidance system reports free spaces every minute — on a Saturday afternoon in Advent you can watch the city centre fill up within an hour.

More important than free spaces is often whether you can get out again at night. Three car parks are not open around the clock: Anfos and Clarahuus close at 1 a.m. and stay shut on Sundays, Bahnhof Süd closes at 11 p.m. These hours appear neither in the cantonal dataset nor in the live status — we fetch them from the operators’ own pages.
